At JAP IMP Japanese Imports we pride ourselves on connecting our clients with quality used imports from Japan that meet and exceed their expectations each and every time.

We provide a transparent, reliable and cost effective way to import your own car from Japan for a fixed service fee of $1,295.00. From auction bidding, to shipping, customs clearance and compliance, we arrange everything to make your importing experience smooth and hassle free. We can even assist with registration for our Victorian customers at a small additional fee.
We also have access to a wide range of hand picked cars that are available for direct import either in our own holding yards or with our trusted suppliers in Japan.

How Direct Importing works...
1. Contact us
Reach out to us to discuss your import options, vehicle preferences and budget. Vehicles have to be on the SEVS register, or over 25 years to be eligible for import.
2. Pay our service fee
Sign our engagement letter and pay our service fee of $1,295 so that we can begin searching for your desired vehicle.
3. Buy the vehicle
With access to thousands of vehicles daily, we'll recommend quality examples to you. We'll then inspect and bid on the car of your choice.
5. Pay for the Vehicle
Once we've secured a vehicle on your behalf, we'll assist you with the process of submitting payment for the car to Japan.
5. Shipping
We'll organise for your vehicle to be shipped to the port of your choice via a RORO carrier.
6. Documents & Keys
We'll organise for the documents relating to the export of your vehicle, along with any spare keys and manuals to be sent via international mail.
7. Customs Clearance
Our customs agent will arrange paperwork prior to the arrival of your vehicle. You pay their invoice for shipping, taxes and clearance charges. Once your vehicle has cleared customs, we'll arrange transport directly to the Compliance Workshop.
8. Compliance
We'll connect you with a reputable compliance workshop in your area. They will make the necessary changes to your vehicle in order for it to meet ADRs. Upon completion, you pay the workshop directly for this work.
9. Registration
In order to register your vehicle, you will need to obtain a roadworthy inspection in line with your states rules / regulations. If you're in Victoria, we can assist you with this process for an additional handling fee.
